'I Buy Local' launches Consumer Card promotion
The second part of the "I Buy Local" campaign has launched with the introduction of Consumer Cards. These punch cards are available for $2 at the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Rhinelander Inc. and several participating "I Buy Local" businesses.
"Along with your purchase of the card, you will get a window cling to proudly display your support of local Rhinelander businesses," said Lara Reed, executive director of the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce. "Half of the proceeds from the cards will go to local non-profit organizations."
The Consumer Cards each contain 10 punches. For each purchase made at a participating "I Buy Local" business, consumers will get one punch. Once they have 10 punches and fill up a card they can enter to win monthly prizes. The first winner will be drawn the first week of December and will win an 8-inch Android tablet donated by Cirilli Law Offices in downtown Rhinelander. Each month a different prize will be announced and a winner will be selected.
"I Buy Local" is a program supported by the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Rhinelander Inc. to help bring awareness to our local business community and encourage the public to stop and shop locally when possible. Participating businesses include: A'la Mode Ice Cream and Coffee Shop, Al's Furniture, Boyd Financial, Carpetiers, D&J Auto Repair, Diane's Frame Shoppe, Diel Insurance, Driscoll Property Management, Eagle River Cabinets, Forest TV & Appliance, Forth Floral, Frasier's Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, It Works Body Wraps, Lund & Taylor Bridal Gallerie, Northern Coffee Haus, Northwoods Auto Techs, Park City Credit Union, Press Express, Peoples State Bank, Rhinelander Café & Pub, Rhinelander GM, Rhinelander Honda, Rhinelander Toyota, Rocky's Roadhouse and T.J. DeWitt & Company.
"Look for the 'I Buy Local' logo in the window of participating and supporting businesses and remember to shop local first," Reed said.
