Thursday May 11 was a big day for two Three Lakes students. Accompanied by Roger Luce, Executive Director of Oneida County Economic Development Corporation, we traveled to Wheeling, IL, to accept delivery of their first 50 products from Absolute Turn. They were introduced to Ron Urban, who started the business at age 18 with a single machine, not sure how he was going to pay for it. Now, 28 years later, he has a wonderful shop and about 40 employees - an inspiring story for our students of hard work, tenacity, and following your dreams. Our students saw their product being made on a $850,000 machine - amazing. They were treated to an amazing Chicago-style lunch and saw a can-making machine made by Absolute Turn. Then, it was time to load their product and return to Three Lakes. It was a long day, with 12 hours of driving in the school van, but very worth it for all.

Heartfelt thanks to Ron and his team at Absolute Turn, and to Roger Luce of Onedia County Economic Development Corporation. Working together and thinking outside the box, we are helping these empowered, educated students solve problems and follow their dreams.

Fab Lab Three Lakes encourages everyone to stop by with your dream and follow it. You never know where the path may lead, but you will discover amazing things abut yourself and make many new friends along the way. Stop in soon and tell us your dream!!
