John Koskinen: Chief Economist with the WI Department of Revenue
Bio - John Koskinen's expert economic analysis has positioned him as an authority on Wisconsin’s economy. John’s detailed and visual presentations make it easy to understand Wisconsin’s economy how is the most competitive it has been in many years. His presentation will change your perception of Wisconsin’s economy. John has been cited as a commentator on the Wisconsin economy in the media throughout the state and the country. He has testified on the Wisconsin economy before several standing committees of the state legislature. He has presented on Wisconsin economic outlook to the diverse groups around the state including rating agencies, investor groups, state and regional economic development associations, colleges and universities, financial institutions, trade associations, and employers. For 2021 and 2022, Vistage Inc. recognized John as one of its top presenters nationally. Prior to joining the Department of Revenue in 2007, John served as the Staff Economist for the Governor's Budget Office, Wisconsin Department of Administration from 1979 to 2007. He started his professional career at the Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau. John has his B.A. and M.S. in Applied Economics from Marquette University. He has done additional graduate studies in Economics at Northwestern University and computer science at the University of Wisconsin.
